ORIGIN

Founded in 2020 in the heart of the Swiss Alps Ofwaste innovates in the eyewear sector by offering an alternative through frames made from recycled polymers.

VISION

Our ambition is to create high-quality products that combine expertise and innovation. We never compromise on quality and always strive to make decisions that maximise sustainability and ethical working practices. Our frames are made entirely in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the Valais region.

PRODUCTION

We have developed a process that transforms used polymers collected from local partners into sheets that can be used to cut our frames. This process enables us to obtain the properties inherent in frame design. Our frames are then cut and assembled at Marcus Marienfeld, an eyewear manufacturer based in Brig for over 25 years. Thanks to their know-how and experience, we can offer you high-quality frames. Each piece is unique, hand-finished and 100% designed in the heart of the Swiss Alps. All these operations enable us to reduce the sourcing and production stages to a radius of less than 50 km, offering an innovative and sustainable solution.

DEVELOPMENT

01.

The manufacturing process for our frames has received expert advice from the FHNW Institue for polymer at the University of Applied Sciences in Brugg-Windisch. The cross-disciplinary nature of polymer engineering calls for a multitude of skills and a wide range of expertise in order to implement innovative and sustainable processes and thus be able to offer you high-performance products.
